Rattle Elephant

1. Ring

Ch 12 with green, fold the chains around the ring and crochet a sl in the 1st ch from the start.

Crochet 32 rounds of 12 sc around the ring.

End with a sl in the 1st sc and fasten off.

Weave in the ends.
2. Elephant

Start at the front with the trunk.

Ch 2 with green or start with a magic ring.

1. 6 sc in the 1st ch or in the magic ring, 1 sl in the 1st sc (= 6 sc)

2. Crochet 6 sc in the back loops.

3 - 5. 6 sc

6. 2 sc in every 2nd sc (= 9 sc)

7 and 8. 9 sc

9. 2 sc in every 3rd sc (= 12 sc)

10 and 11. 12 sc

12. 2 sc in every 2nd sc (= 18 sc)

13. 2 sc, 6 x (1 sc, 2 sc in the next sc), 4 sc (= 24 sc)

14. 2 sc, 6 x (2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc), 4 sc (= 30 sc)

15. 30 sc

16. 2 sc, 6 x (3 sc, 2 sc in the next sc), 4 sc (= 36 sc)

17 - 23. 36 sc

24. 6 x (2 sc, sc 2 st together, 2 sc) (= 30 sc)

25. 30 sc

26. Sc every 4th and 5th st together (= 24 sc)

27. 6 x (1 sc, sc 2 st together, 1 sc) (= 18 sc)

Put the rattle into the head. Stuff the head further with stuffing material.

28. Sc every 2nd and 3rd st together (= 12 sc)

29. 6 x (sc 2 st together) (= 6 sc)

Fasten off.

Pull the yarn end through the remaining 6 stitches and pull tight.

Weave in the end by pulling it through the head a few times.

Embroider the eyes on the head with black at the level of round 12 with 8 stitches between them.
3. Ears

Ch 2 with green or start with a magic ring.

1. 6 sc in the 1st ch or in the magic ring, 1 sl in the 1st sc (= 6 sc)

2. 2 sc in every sc (= 12 sc)

3. 2 sc in every 2nd sc (= 18 sc)

4. 6 x (1 sc, 2 sc in the next sc, 1 sc) (= 24 sc)

5. 2 sc in every 4th sc (= 30 sc)

Fold the circle and crochet 3 sl along the edge, so the ear stays slightly folded.

Fasten off.

Crochet another ear.

Sew the ears onto the head from round 20 to 22 with 12 st between them. Sew the head onto the ring.
