Instructions by touchupdirect Aerosol Essential Kit Designed for versatility, the Aerosol Essential Kit provides Colorcoat and Clearcoat—ideal for repainting parts or extending your current project. Product Information -
1. Prepare the Surface
- Always scuff the clearcoat before repainting a painted surface.
- Use 1000-grit sandpaper and a cup of water to wet sand the area.
- The goal is to remove the gloss without sanding through to the white basecoat.
- Scuff the entire area evenly to ensure proper paint adhesion.
- Primer isn’t needed — the scuffed surface is ready for paint.
-
2. Apply Colorcoat
- Hold the spray can 8–12 inches from the surface.
- Spray in smooth, even strokes, beginning at the edges and working across the entire area.
- Make sure to extend each pass slightly beyond the painted section to ensure full, even coverage.
- Allow the first coat to dry for 15–20 minutes.
- Repeat for up to 2-4 coats total.
-
3. Apply Clearcoat
- After achieving the desired color coverage, apply Clearcoat to protect the paint and give it a finished look.
- Apply a light, even first coat with full coverage. Let it dry for at least 15 minutes.
- Apply a second coat—slightly heavier, but not enough to cause runs. Let dry for 15–30 minutes.
- Repeat for 2-4 coats, allowing proper drying time between each.
- Do not exceed four coats.
