Aerosol Preferred Kit

The Aerosol Preferred Kit includes Primer, Colorcoat, Clearcoat, and a Wax & Grease Remover Wipe—everything you need to repaint auto parts or repair a large scratch. We recommend having sandpaper and a tack cloth on hand for best results.

Materials

1. Prepare for Painting
Wet sand the entire part with 500-grit sandpaper to scuff the surface.

Follow up with 800-grit sandpaper for a smoother finish.

Clean the surface thoroughly.
2. Clean Surface
Wash the part with Dawn dish detergent and let it dry completely.

Wipe down the paint surface using the Wax & Grease Remover Wipe to remove any residual chemicals.

(Optional) Use a tack cloth to eliminate any remaining dust.
3. Apply Primer
Start with one coat, then wait a few minutes before adding more.

Apply 2–3 light coats.

Let it dry (15 - 30 min).
4. Wet Sand Primer
Wet sanding the primer helps create a smooth surface for painting.

Use 1500-grit sandpaper and dip it into a cup of water.

Sand the primer using a circular motion until the surface is smooth.
5. Apply Colorcoat
Shake the color thoroughly before use, and shake periodically between sprays.

Before applying the first coat, lightly wipe the surface with a tack cloth to remove dust.

Point the can away from surfaces you don’t want to paint. Test spray 1–2 quick bursts to clear the nozzle and ensure proper spray function.

Hold the can 6–8 inches from the surface. Begin your spray pass 1–2 inches before the target area and continue spraying 1–2 inches beyond it for even coverage.

Repeat for up to 2-4 coats total. Let paint dry for 15-30 minutes between coats.
6. Apply Clearcoat
Note: This video shows a Matte Finish Clearcoat. The application is the same as Gloss Clearcoat.

Wipe the surface with a tack cloth before each additional coat and before the first coat.

Apply a light, even first coat with full coverage. Let it dry for at least 15 minutes.

Apply a second coat—slightly heavier, but not enough to cause runs. Let dry for 15–30 minutes.

Repeat for 2-4 coats, allowing proper drying time between each.

Do not exceed four coats.
